Oshawa Prestige Windows & Doors: Replacement Windows Done by Our Own Crews

Oshawa Prestige Windows & Doors is a Durham Region window and door company. We've been at this for more than 35 years, long enough to have pulled out windows we've seen go in. The person who'll probably walk your house first is our senior estimator, a finish carpenter before he ever touched a window, who grew up in a 1950s bungalow a few streets from the old GM north plant. He looks at your trim and plaster as closely as the glass, because that's what you'll be staring at for the next 30 years.

Our crews install vinyl, fibreglass and wood-clad windows and entry and patio doors, about 1,100 openings a year from Pickering to Cobourg. They work for us, not for a subcontractor, and every job carries $5 million in liability insurance and WSIB coverage. The install itself is covered for five years, on top of whatever the maker warrants the window for. After that? Our service technicians can still find parts for windows built decades ago.

Why bother with all this care? According to Natural Resources Canada, windows and doors can be up to 25 percent of a house's heat loss. In our experience, a lot of that loss isn't the glass at all. It's the gap between the frame and the brick that nobody insulated in 1962. Good glass, put in properly, fixes both.

"A same-day price at the kitchen table without a tape measure is a guess. We measure first, then we price."

How We Work

  • Measured twice

Once for the quote, once more before we order. Custom windows can't be returned, so the second measure is cheap insurance.

  • Honest about full-frame vs retrofit

A moisture meter goes on every wood sill. If it's dry, a retrofit saves you money, and we'll say so even when full-frame pays us more.

  • Clean, insured installs

Drop cloths first, old windows out on our truck, and before and after photos of every opening sent to you when we're done.
